The Killers tease collaboration with mystery artist who very likely is Bruce Springsteen

The Killers are teasing a collaboration with a mystery artist, but it appears as though the mystery has already been solved.

On Thursday, the "Mr. Brightside" rockers tweeted, "We're announcing a killer collab (pun intended) later this week, but you've got to figure out who it's with." They added that they'll be posting different clues leading up to the announcement, and encourage you to submit your guesses via TheKillersMusic.com/GuesstheFeature.

The first clue is a photo of a Ferris wheel on a crowded boardwalk, accompanied by the caption, "This city is down on the boardwalk and also the title of a song by our mystery artist." That seems like a pretty obvious clue toward "Atlantic City" by Bruce Springsteen, but if you weren't already convinced, The Boss may have spilled the beans himself.

According to Variety, Springsteen called into his radio show and revealed that he and The Killers are working on a new song together.

"It's [frontman Brandon Flowers] and I with the band, we have done something that is going to come out soon, in a week or so," Springsteen reportedly said.

The Killers haven't yet officially announced the identity of their mystery collaborator but, barring an M. Night Shyamalan-like twist, it certainly seems a song with Bruce is on its way.

If the Boss tune does indeed come to fruition, it'll be the second Killers collaboration with a big-name classic rock artist in the past year -- they released a remix of the unearthed Rolling Stones song "Scarlet" last August.

Springsteen, meanwhile, teamed up with the Jack Antonoff-led band Bleachers last November for the song "Chinatown."
