Young The Giant jams with high school orchestra class

Ernie Cannata teaches an orchestra class at Godinez Fundamental High School in Santa Ana, California - a community in the Los Angeles area. The past few weeks his class took a break from classical pieces and started practicing some pop/rock.

Young The Giant are an alternative rock band hailing from Irvine, California - one town over.

The Godinez High students were learning Young The Giant's latest single, "Mind Over Matter".

Young The Giant's guitarist is Eric Cannata - son of the aforementioned orchestra teacher.

You can see where this is going... somewhere beautiful and inspiring.

Young The Giant's work with Taco Bell's Foundation for Teens brought them to Godinez High as a surprise reward for these students who pledged to graduate high school. According to the video, 84% of Santa Ana families live in poverty.

Young The Giant's sophomore album Mind Over Matter is out now.
