The two songs, ‘Follow you’ and ‘Cutthroat’ are very different but both very personal to lead singer Dan Reynolds. In a Twitter post he revealed that ‘Follow You’ is about the love and strength it takes to maintain a committed relationship, something he and his wife Aja have publicly struggled with over the past few years. Now it seems though, the two are stronger than ever and this song is a representation of that. ‘Cutthroat’ he states as the complete opposite of that, an ‘exorcism of self pity - an examnation of my life.’

The band has also stated that an album has been in the works for the past few years but did not reveal an expected release date yet.
