Green Thumb Industries, a cannabis company out of Chicago has partnered up with convenience giant Circle K stores to launch pop medical marijuana shops inside certain Circle K locations. The Rise Express stores will have a separate entrance and sell flower, gummies, and vapes to medical marijuana card holders. The plants they’re using for these products will be grown at a facility in Ocala so you know its fresh, if that matters lol.
The company currently operates a cultivation facility in Homestead and medical cannabis shops in Pinellas Park, Bonita Springs, Deerfield Beach, Hallandale Beach, Kendall, Oviedo and West Palm Beach.
Of course you’ve got some people opposed to the idea because they think making medical marijuana accessible at gas stations will just encourage people to drive high. But that’s a seriously stupid argument because how do you think most people get their weed currently? That’s right, they drive to a weed store. So how would this be any different, than the convenience to the customer? People who drive high are already doing it. Where they bought the weed had no influence on their poor choices. And the people who use marijuana and don’t drive, well they’re still going to not do that, so again, nothing is different there.
Circle K, which is a Canadian company so you already know they’re cool with weed, has 600 locations in Florida alone, but only 10 of those will also soon have a dispensary attached. I’m assuming they’ve already chosen the locations for these pop-up weed stores, but they haven’t released that info as of yet. As soon as they do I’ll let you know if there’s one near you.
