Violet Grohl

Violet Grohl

California singer/songwriter Violet Grohl combines powerful melodic vocals with gritty, hard-charging guitar riffs, creating a contemporary alt-rock aesthetic with a vintage flair drawing on early influences like Amy Winehouse, Jeff Buckley, and the ’90s riot grrrl scene.

As the daughter of Foo Fighters frontman and former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, Violet had early access to the stage. She duetted with her father at age 12 on a performance of Adele's "When We Were Young," later made live appearances with Foo Fighters, and featured on their 2023 single "Show Me How." In 2025, Nirvana's surviving members reunited for a surprise four-song Fire Aid set in Los Angeles, with Violet singing lead on "All Apologies." The following year, Violet teamed up with Persia Numan, daughter of new wave icon Gary Numan, on "What's Heaven Without You," a tribute to the late filmmaker David Lynch. A pair of singles followed, "Thum" and "Applefish," along with the announcement that her debut album would arrive later that year on Republic. ~ James Christopher Monger
