Ronan Vibert, ‘Saving Mr. Banks’ actor, dead at 58

Actor Ronan Vibert, who played literary agent Diarmuid Russell in “Saving Mr. Banks,” died Thursday at a Florida hospital, his manager said. He was 58.

The actor died after a brief illness, Sharon Vitro told The Hollywood Reporter. The cause of death was not revealed.

Vibert also had roles on Showtime’s “The Borgias” in 2011 and The History Channel’s “Hatfield & McCoys” in 2012, according to IMDb.com.

Vibert was born in Cambridgeshire, England, on Feb. 23, 1964, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He grew up in Penarth, South Wales before securing a spot at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Deadline reported. He lived most of his life in London before relocating to Florida, according to the website.

In addition to “Saving Mr. Banks,” which starred Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson, Vibert also appeared in “Shadow of the Vampire” (2000), “The Cat’s Meow” (2001), “The Pianist” (2002), “Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life” (2003) and “Tristan + Isolde” (2006).

Vibert also worked in television with roles on “Carnival Row,” “Penny Dreadful,” “Rome” and “Waking the Dead,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
