Recall alert: Tesla software glitch can make taillights go off intermittently on some models

Tesla is recalling over 320,000 vehicles because the taillights could turn off unexpectedly.

The recall, issued by the company on Saturday, affects certain Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. Tesla said that there haven’t been “any crashes, injuries, or deaths related to this condition” in the recall report.

The company is releasing an over-the-air firmware update to fix the problem.

According to The Associated Press, Tesla became aware of the problem last month after receiving complaints from customers outside the U.S. that their vehicle taillamps were not illuminating. The company completed an investigation into the issue earlier this month.

The glitch did not affect brake lights, backup lamps or turn signals.
