WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A man looking for his missing rooster instead found human skeletal remains in Florida.
According to WPTV, human remains were found in a shallow grave Wednesday by a man who stumbled upon them while searching for his missing rooster.
Investigators with the West Palm Beach Police Department recovered a skull and human arms, according to WPTV.
Anthropologists and forensic scientists have cleared the area and moved the remains, according to WPBF. Investigators will be working to identify who the remains belong to, and will try to extract DNA in hopes of matching the remains to any missing persons and cold cases.
WPTV said that according to police, it is too early to identify the gender of the remains or the cause of death.
No further information has been released as the investigation is ongoing.
