WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Two dozen people felt the love – and probably more than a little gratitude – when a Carnival Cruise Line ship provided an assist as their boat sank off the coast of Florida on Saturday.

The Carnival Sensation came across the small craft in international waters 37 miles off the coast of Palm Beach, and crew members provided life jackets, blankets, food and water to all 24 distressed passengers of the smaller vessel, WPEC reported.

The crew then brought all 24 people, including two children, aboard the Sensation, where the cruise ship’s medical team evaluated and quarantined them away from crew members, the TV station reported.

Due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, Carnival cruise ships are not in service, so the Sensation had no guests on board when it came upon the struggling boat, ABC News reported.

According to the Miami Herald, the rescued passengers, who were of varying nationalities, were later transferred to the U.S. Coast Guard, the network reported.
