AWOLNATION release new single ‘Passion’

Aaron Bruno of AWOLNATION is back with a new single and details about the yet-to-be named third album. The first single ‘Passion’ dropped on Friday and has some of the serious upbeat rock and roll vibes we can expect from the next album. Bruno told Billboard that “This record I really wanted to make a rock n’ roll/pop album, and I say pop how we grew up listening to that in the sense of Dire Straights or  Born In The U.S.A. or the Cars or Tom Petty or something like that. I felt like this was my opportunity do something like that because I haven’t heard something quite like that in a long time. So I said, ‘I’m gonna make  Born In The U.S.A.  2017, AWOLNATION style.’” Sounds KILLER.

This is the first time Bruno has recorded a record from his home studio in Malibu, CA, “I am a homebody, I like being home. And it worked, that was the cool thing.” He explained to Billboard the stark contrast between that experience and the first album, “I’ve never been a city guy. On the first record and after my whole career was in shambles after the first couple of bands I was in I needed to live out there and go out every night and socially network to get the right people to hear my music or develop the right relationships and schmooze a little bit. I think every artist has to go through a bit of a phase. I did that on the first record when I was just broke and in debt and stuff. So I did that, survived it, thank god, a lot of drugs and s*** all around.”

We don’t have a release date for the full album yet but you can hear ‘Passion’ in the lyric video below now!

Imagine Dragons Release Video For ‘Whatever It Takes’

On Thursday Imagine Dragons dropped the music video for their song ‘Whatever It Takes’. It features the band jamming in a house as rain begins and it starts to flood. The house is then seen completely overtaken with water and later catches fire.

The video is falling under some criticism today as people think it’s insensitive and poorly timed given the devastation left by hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria this year. Harvey alone displaced about 30,000 due to extensive flooding. However, others say the video can be interpreted as inspiring and a message of strength to those affected given it’s powerful ‘whatever it takes’ message.

It’s unclear when exactly the video was filmed and there has been no statement from the band as to what the message is meant to be.

What do you think? Insensitive or inspiring?

Imagine Dragons will be at the Amway Center November 10th with Grouplove and K.Flay.
