WCBI says Justin Robert Coggins, 18, was arrested Monday just days after he allegedly killed his mother’s fiancee, Dustin Hoffpauir, 33. The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office’s Sheriff Eddie Hawkins told WCBI that the shooting happened hours after Coggins graduated from Caledonia High School.

The shooting happened around 7 p.m. on Saturday, according to WTVA. Deputies arrived in the area and found Hoffpauir dead from a gunshot wound. Coggins was later arrested and charged with murder.

Sheriff Hawkins told WTVA that investigators believe this was a case of domestic violence. The investigation is ongoing and no further information has been released.
