Under the name Dayglow, Texas-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Sloan Struble creates catchy, effervescent, guitar-based indie pop. His home-recorded, self-released 2018 debut album, Fuzzybrain, went viral, earning him a spot at Austin City Limits Music Festival, a label reissue, and plenty of indie buzz. He kept the buzz alive with 2021's Harmony House and returned in 2022 with People in Motion while notching millions of streams and playing major festivals like Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo. After signing with Mercury, Dayglow made his major-label debut with the 2024 single "Every Little Thing I Say I Do."
Growing up in the town of Aledo, Texas, near Fort Worth, Struble began recording music at the age of ten when a friend showed him how to use GarageBand on his computer. The dearth of musical collaborators in Aledo eventually led him to learn multiple instruments, and throughout his teenage years, he recorded music by himself in his bedroom, taking influence from a variety of artists from Phoenix to James Taylor. In 2018, just as he left home to attend college at University of Texas in Austin, Struble self-released his debut album, Fuzzybrain, using his stage name, Dayglow. Bolstered by the catchy single "Can I Call You Tonight?," the record began picking up steam amid the burgeoning bedroom pop community and streaming platforms, where it amassed millions of plays. While trying to juggle a college freshman's academic workload, his music career began taking off with appearances at SXSW and the Austin City Limits Music Festival as well as a tour with popular indie band COIN. Also in 2019, Fuzzybrain received a physical release on vinyl and cassette from Nashville's Acrophase Records.
The dancy, '80s-influenced single "Close to You" arrived in early 2021 as the first track released off Dayglow's sophomore full-length, Harmony House. In October 2022, he returned with his third album, People in Motion. Also self-produced, it featured the upbeat and sunny singles "Deep End" and "Then It All Goes Away," the latter of which hit number 20 on Billboard's Adult Alternative Airplay chart. By this point, Struble had gained enough momentum to make the jump to a major label, signing a deal with Mercury.
