Some of today's songs were suggested through the app, but they're also all cool new music. So I thought I'd post a video with each so you can check them out. Let us know what you think!
Ever since breaking through to American audiences with their Discovery album in 2000, French electronic duo Daft Punk has a way of turning a new album into an event. They blitzed media in advance of their premiere of "Get Lucky" a few weeks ago. Random Access Memories, their first full length since 2005, drops on May 17. "Get Lucky" features Pharrell Williams (N*E*R*D) and Nile Rodgers on guitar.
P.O.D. showcase their softer side on the summery ballad "Beautiful" from their 2012 set Murdered Love. I'm not upset many of the early-00s rap-rock and nu-metal acts have since faded away, but what I've heard from this P.O.D. album has been pretty decent!
MS MR (Miss Mister) is a co-ed duo from New York. Dreamy, moody pop with smoky, sultry vocals from Lizzy Plapinger on "Hurricane". Their debut album Secondhand Rapture drops May 14.
22-year-old British songwriter Dan Croll earned early credit for his songwriting chops. He won a songwriter of the year award from Britain's Musicians Benevolent Fund and was one of a handful of students hand-picked to chat with Paul McCartney. Here's "From Nowhere".
Finally, you may have heard "Lightning Bolt" by Jake Bugg placed in some ads. A hard-strummed acoustic-guitar propels Bugg, so his brand of folk revivalism finds more in common with Woody Guthrie and Johnny Cash than Mumford & Sons' banjo-picking or Of Monsters And Men's campfire melodies.
If you're looking for a new home, Greg Leeson has the place for you. His 4-bedroom 2.5 bath Victorian home has original hardwood floors throughout, stainless windows, a roomy basement with wet bar, and possibly a rather noisy and rude apparition.
