On the heels of last month's revelation to Rolling Stone that Against Me! singer Tom Gabel would transition to life as a woman named Laura Jane Grace following a life-long battle with gender dysphoria, his band has hit the road opening for The Cult and Laura has played some solo acoustic gigs in the interim.
Rolling Stone has since posted the full article on their website, and it's an absolutely fascinating read. Click here.
The best footage to surface of Laura Jane Grace performing comes from the Punk Rock Bowling festival in Las Vegas, where Grace opened for Alkaline Trio frontman Matt Skiba's latest side project, Matt Skiba And The Sekrets. She performed the Against Me! throwback "Walking Is Still Honest."

Against Me! has hit the road with The Cult, and here's some not-terrible fan-shot cell phone video of the band performing "Don't Lose Touch." The quality is not as good, and you can hear the girls filming almost as clearly as Laura.

Rolling Stone reported about the full band's gig:
The quartet played six new songs, including the rollicking anthem "Transgender Dysphoria Blues," the title track of an album they're working on. Decked out in a loose-fitting black tank top, tight black jeans and black eye shadow, Grace was in high spirits as she delivered her trademark, throat-shredding screams. [...]
Thanks to the outdoor venue's seating arrangements, a mosh pit never did break out during the set, but a handful of fans got up to sing along. When Grace belted out the lines to "The Ocean," a revealing track from the band's 2007 album New Wave – "If I could have chosen / I would have been born a woman" – fans broke into cheers and applause.
