fun. finally gave us their official video for "We Are Young." While the viral clip of a cute girl peeling an apple was nice, this video features a bar brawl in super slo-mo.

The Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney took some unprovoked shots at Nickelback in their Rolling Stone interview out later this month.
Rock & roll is dying because people became OK with Nickelback being the biggest band in the world,” he says, blowing cigarette smoke out the window of his rented East Village loft a few days before the band heads to L.A. “So they became OK with the idea that the biggest rock band in the world is always going to be shit – therefore you should never try to be the biggest rock band in the world. Fuck that! Rock & roll is the music I feel the most passionately about, and I don’t like to see it fucking ruined and spoon-fed down our throats in this watered-down, post-grunge crap, horrendous shit. When people start lumping us into that kind of shit, it’s like, ‘Fuck you,’ honestly.
Could whoever is comparing The Black Keys to Nickelback please stop? You're clearly making Mr. Carney very angry, and he already feels bad enough about himself.
"I suck at the drums, so it's terrifying... Just trying to keep it together. I see a lot of comments on Twitter and stuff about how ugly I am, how bad I am at the drums, how awkward I look, and I'm like, yeah, I agree with most of those things."

The biggest 'rock' album of 2011 - and I use 'rock' loosely because of who we're talking about - belongs to Mumford & Sons with Sigh No More (1.42 million copies). But Mumford only has the 6th best-selling album of the year. It was Adele who scored the biggest-selling album and song of 2011. 21 sold 5.82 million copies - the most of any album in a single year since 2004 - and "Rollin' In The Deep" moved about as many singles. Also, the comeback of vinyl continues - a record amount of, uh, records was sold for the fourth straight year since Soundscan started tracking.
Tool will hit Orlando on their upcoming tour. February 7 at the UCF Arena. Tickets and more info here.
Stone Sour dude Corey Taylor admits their next album is very ambitious. He says, "Our ultimate goal is a double concept album, which the only way I can describe it is [PINK FLOYD's] 'The Wall' meets [ALICE IN CHAINS'] 'Dirt' on steroids. And I think it's gonna be fantastic. And if I can pull it off, it's gonna be the biggest thing we've ever done in our career."
Sleigh Bells' new album Reign of Terror has been delayed a week - to February 21. You can still see the dance/metal duo perform on February 4 at the Ritz for an early listen of new material.
Legendary So-Cal hardcore group D.R.I. will tour this spring without a road crew. To cut costs, they're looking for sober, volunteer roadies in each city in exchange for free admission, a t-shirt, and soda - including their March 2 stop at The Brass Mug in Tampa. Brass Mug shows are notorious for having headliners hit the stage as late as 1:30 or 2 a.m. If teetotaling while taking care of a hardcore band until the wee hours of the morning sounds like a good time, you're a better person than me.
Goldfinger will be back in 2012 with a new album.
