The famed Coachella festival is held over two weekends this year. We're about 48 hours from weekend #2, but the first weekend provided many highlights. And there were certainly other things to talk about besides the Tupac hologram.
Florence + The Machine sent the first weekend crowd home happy after an incredible Sunday night headlining performance. Click here to watch if the embed below doesn't work properly. Spoiler: she saves my favorite song "No Light, No Light" for the encore.

At The Drive-In alumni birthed The Mars Volta and Sparta upon their earlier band's breakup in 2000. They admit their reunion is all about money and nostalgia, but fans of their proggy post-hardcore don't seem to mind. Here's their full set (link here in case embed doesn't work). Another spoiler: the only song you might know from them is saved for last.

Refused are a Swedish punk group that broke up shortly after their genre-bending 1998 album The Shape of Punk To Come. Much of their fame and influence is posthumous, and many fans thought a reunion was unlikely. Looks like they used their hefty festival paycheck to buy some nicer clothes, but they sound amazing. Full set video is not available, but some pro-shot clips have surfaced on YouTube ("New Noise" is here if embed fails).

Finally, it was Coachella's 2004 "get" of the newly-reunited Pixies that put made the festival an annual destination for music lovers and big-name artists. Pixiesmusic.com will trade you a 4-song EP of the group's 2004 performance for an e-mail address.
