On the heels of their breakup, R.E.M. posted details of a forthcoming compilation with three new songs. The aptly titled Part Lies, Part Truth, Part Heart, Part Garbage comes out November 15. The band said they delayed this announcement lest it be judged a post-breakup cash-grab. R.E.M. bassist Mike Mills also warned hopeful fans that the band "will never play on the same stage again."

Courtney Love signed a deal to write her memoir. To say the Hole frontwoman and wife of the late Kurt Cobain has a lot of stories to share would be putting it mildly.

INXSfound a new frontman. Irish singer Ciaran Gribbin joined the group in a more organic fashion than former frontman J.D. Fortune, who won the job via the Rock Star reality show in 2005.

Pearl Jam's recent documentary soundtrack for Pearl Jam Twenty was arranged by the film's director Cameron Crowe. The filmmaker provided an annotated guide to the tracks he handpicked for the soundtrack.

Melvins will team with car manufacturer Scion to release a mini-album.

They Might Be Giants talk about their new album, making children's music, and puppet shows.
