Death Cab for Cutie Headlines Langerado
It may be a smaller show, it may be at a smaller venue, but Langerado is definitely back. The re-launched South Florida music festival, which originally ran from 2003 to 2008, will have Death Cab for Cutie, the Trey Anastasio Band, Ben Harper, Ween and Thievery Corporation as its headliners on Oct. 8-9 at Markham Park in Sunrise. In Death Cab’s case, playing the show is sort of a promise fulfilled – they were one of the headliners for the ill-fated 2009 Langerado in Miami’s Bicentennial Park which ended up canceled due to poor ticket sales. Also on the bill this year are: Arctic Monkeys, G. Love and Special Sauce, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Wolfgang Gartner, The Glitch Mob, Ghostland Observatory, Das Racist, Etienne de Crecy, Portugal. The Man., etc... Tickets are on sale now at langerado.com. Advance tickets (two-day passes) are $150, while at the gate, it’s $180. Single-day tickets may be on sale soon – the site’s FAQ reports that those kinds of tickets would be made available once the artists were announced.

Red Hot Chili Peppers announce release date of new album
Bassist Flea took it to Twitter to announce that the band’s new record is finally coming on August 30, entitled I’m With You. “It gives me profound pleasure deep in the fiber of my being to announce the august 30 release date of the new red hot chili peppers’s record,” Flea tweeted Sunday evening. Coming 5 years after their last album, Stadium Arcadium, I’m With You is set to be the first without Frusciante since 1995’s One Hot Minute(which featured Dave Navarro on the guitar). Currently, the band has a few shows scheduled for Asia and South America starting August, but that’s likely to change fast, given the release of a new album.
