Misfits' Jerry Only

>> Misfits will release The Devil's Rain, their first album since 1999, on October 4. The ensuing fall tour hits Firestone in Orlando on November 17.

Misfits play as a trio these days led by bassist Jerry Only, the band's sole remaining founding member. Only assumes vocal duties as well, and he's backed by Dez Cadena (ex-Black Flag).

Other former Misfits Danzig and Doyle will perform some Misfits sets together later this year.

>> Red Hot Chili Peppers will release an 8-song DLC pack for Rock Band 3 on August 30 to coincide with their new album I'm With You. The pack features three new tunes and five older hits - all songs from Californication and By The Way (though I'm kinda psyched they included "Parallel Universe"). Does anyone still play rhythm games anymore? I love 'em, but I'm a big nerd.

>> Death Cab For Cutie and The Flaming Lips may collaborate on an EP sometime in the future. Lips' bold frontman Wayne Coyne actually interrupted Spinner's interview with Death Cab frontman Ben Gibbard to gauge their interest!

>> Mighty Mighty Bosstones are also reportedly at work on a new album according to their guitarist. Their last album was 2009's Pin Points and Gin Joints following a hiatus.
