>> Evanescence debuted their new song "What You Want" for MTV.com Monday night. Their upcoming self-titled album, their first since 2006, comes out October 11. Watch it here.

 

>> Staind will release their new self-titled album on September 13. Guitarist Mike Mushok described the recording process as "miserable", between bandmembers working separately to being under a deadline with their record label.

 

>> Rise Against picked up a meaningful nomination for the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards. Their anti-homophobia anthem "Make It Stop (September's Children)" could take home a trophy in a brand new category, Best Video With a Message., for its partnership with the LGBT-focused 'It Gets Better' campaign.
