>> Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill downplayed breakup rumors following the cancellation of their U.S. tour. He tweeted (@doctorfollowill), "Bummed about the tour not happening. So sorry 4 all the fans. We just need some rest. Thanks 4 understanding. WE ARE NOT BREAKING UP!"

 

>> Breaking Benjamin frontman Ben Burnley fired his guitarist and bassist for authorizing their record label to remix a song for their upcoming compilation Shallow Bay: The Best of Breaking Benjamin. Check out this timeline of the band's history from their hometown newspaper. Burnley will find replacements and continue as Breaking Benjamin.

 

>> The Shins mainman James Mercer, most recently active with Dangermouse in the groovy duo Broken Bells, assembled a new lineup and expect to drop a new album in 2012. They will tour sporadically this summer and fall, coming no closer than the DeLuna Fest in Pensacola.

 

>> Former Joy Division and New Order bassist Peter Hook will tour with his new band, The Light, performing entire Joy Division albums. The closest show is September 21 in Washington D.C.
