Tropicana Field St. Petersburg opened its doors on March 3, 1990 and has been home to the MLB's Tampa Bay Rays since 1998. It is currently the only non-retractable domed stadium in Major League Baseball, and the claims to fame don't stop there. Pro baseball, football, hockey and arena football; the Tropicana Field schedule has featured them all, earning recognition as the only stadium in history to host full seasons of all four sports.

A further stand-out feature of the Tropicana Field St. Petersburg is its Rays Tank. Located just over the right-center field wall is a 35-foot, 10,000 gallon tank which is home to over 30 Cownose rays. The product of a unique partnership with the Florida Aquarium, the tank allows fans to get up close and personal with the rays during game time by feeding and touching them. Needless to say, Tropicana Field St. Petersburg is the only professional sports venue to feature such a display.
