Her name is Theresa Vail, you also know her as Miss Kansas.
Vail and dozens of other beautiful young women are taking part in The Miss America pageant with a winner being crowned on Sunday.
But Theresa is a bit different.
First, she’s a sergeant in the Kansas National Guard.
Second, on swimsuit night she became the first contestant to ever show off her tattoos.
Vail has two, one is a military insignia and the other is the serenity prayer.
People magazine reports Vail’s intention is "empowering women to OVERCOME stereotypes and break barriers.”
She continued “what a hypocrite I would be if I covered the ink. With my platform, how could I tell other women to be fearless and be true to themselves if I can’t do the same?"
Vail is quite a fireball.
She speaks Chinese, is outstanding with a bow and arrow and used to race motorcycles.
The 22 year old senior at Kansas State University also loves to hunt and wants to be a military dentist once she is out of school.
