Description:
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at USF presents "Global Warming: Science and Politics of a Hot Topic" as part of its Friday Lecture Series. Individual opinions about global warming (also called global climate change) tend to correlate strongly to political affiliation. People with different political beliefs often disagree with each other on this "hot" topic. By breaking down this complex subject into "scientific" questions and "political" questions, it may be possible to identify areas of agreement. Jeffrey Cunningham, PhD, is associate professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at USF. He teaches environmental engineering, including a class on global climate change.
