Background: Spasmodic Dysphonia (SD) is a rare neurological disorder that affects the vocal cords. SD inhibits those with the disorder by not allowing them to speak or causes them to speak with a wispy voice. SD makes it very difficult to communicate with others. Last year, the Tampa Bay Spasmodic Dysphonia Support Group held its first ever Walk a Thon in November. The group had approximately 20 walkers that raised over $6000 for research and a cure.
World Voice day was started in 2002. World Voice Day is meant to bring attention to the voice and its disorders.
This year the Tampa Bay Spasmodic Dysphonia Support Group wants to raise awareness for World Voice Day and try to raise even more money for SD research.
Please join us on April 13th by either participating in the walk or donating to help us find a cure.
The NSDA is a 501C 3 organization and your contributions are tax deductible.
Thank you for your support!!
