Anthony Maslin and Marite Norris were devastated when they found out their three children had died aboard Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 on July 17, 2014.

Mo, 13, Evie, 11, and Otis, 9 died alongside their 68-year-old grandfather, Mariet's father, on the plane headed from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur.

The Dutch Safety Board later confirmed that the plane crashed after being hit by a Russian-made Buk missile over eastern Ukraine.

All 283 people aboard the plane died.   “Our family was torn apart when MH17 was blown out of the sky by the violent anger of a nationalist missile” the couple said in a statement to the Department of Foreign Affairs. “Our three innocent, beautiful and inspiring children were killed, alongside their grandfather, Nick Norris" Violet was born Tuesday. “We believe that Mo, whose 14th birthday was Saturday, Evie, 12 next week, Otis, 10 next month, and Granddad Nick have sent us an amazing gift," the couple said. "Violet’s birth is a testament to our belief that love is stronger than hate.” “We still live with pain, but Violet, and the knowledge that all four kids are with us always, brings light to our darkness," they said. “We will continue to love all four of our children equally. Violet brings some hope and joy for us. We hope she brings hope and joy for you too.” <script>(function(d, s, id) {  var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];  if (d.getElementById(id)) return;  js = d.createElement(s); = id;  js.src = "//;version=v2.6";  fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));</script> Wonderful news for Perth's Maslin family, torn apart by the MH17 tragedy."Violet May Maslin came in to the world on...Posted by 7 News Perth on Wednesday, May 11, 2016

70-year-old Indian woman gives birth to baby

A 70-year-old Indian woman gave birth to her first child after years of trying to conceive with her husband.

Daljinder Kaur gave birth to a baby boy, whom she named Armaan, on April 19.

"God heard our prayers. My life feels complete now," Kaur told AFP. "I am looking after the baby all by myself. I feel so full of energy. My husband is also very caring and helps me as much as he can."

Kaur had been regularly visiting a fertility clinic with her husband of 46 years, Mohinder Singh Gill, 79, for two years.

During that time, Kaur attempted to conceive using in vitro fertilization.

"When we saw the (IVF) advert, we thought we should also give it a try, as I badly wanted to have a baby of my own," she said.

Doctors were unsure whether Kaur was a good candidate for childbearing, considering her age, but tests said otherwise.

"I first tried to avoid the case because she looked very frail. Then we made her undergo all the tests and once all the results were OK we went ahead," Anurag Bishnoi, who runs the fertility clinic, told AFP.

Kaur's exact age was also unknown. In a country where birth certificates are uncommon, she guessed that her age was 70, but the clinic said in a statement that she was 72.

"People (ask) what will happen to the child once we die, but I have full faith in God," Gill said. "God is omnipotent and omnipresent. He will take care of everything."

Armaan weighed about 4.4 pounds at birth and is said to be "healthy and hearty," AFP reported.

A baby's name can have a big impact on the rest of their life, which is why some parents are paying hundreds to thousands of dollars to have someone else choose it for them.

Name-selecting services in the U.S. and Europe can help feuding parents decide on a name and avoid mishaps like inappropriate initials or their new little one sharing a name with a serial killer.

The services can cost from $500 to over $29,000. That will get you research on things like historic ties a name has or a family's cultural background and could take a few weeks.

"Believe me, you don't want to name a child with an unattractive name and have them go through life and suffer the consequences," one UCLA psychology professor told Bloomberg.

According to the professor's research, names create positive or negative impressions, which can affect social and professional goals.

And with a push for unique names -- especially from celebrities -- professional services may have just revamped the search.

"John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant," Teigen wrote on Instagram. "As many of you know, we've been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn't been easy, but we kept trying because we can't wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family."

John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant :) As many of you know, we've been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn't been easy, but we kept trying because we can't wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family. We're so excited that it's finally happening. Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching! Xx A photo posted by chrissy teigen (@chrissyteigen) on Oct 12, 2015 at 4:55pm PDT

Before Luna's birth, 30-year-old Teigen joked about how the baby girl would look.

"Chrissy says it's a lot of pressure because everybody says she's going to be so cute," Legend said in an interview on "Big Boy's Neighborhood" radio show on KRRL radio in February. "What if she's not that cute? Every baby is not that cute. Let's just hope that she's healthy and that's all we are focused on."

In an interview with E! News, Teigen said she hopes her daughter will enjoy jet-setting.

"I want to get her into traveling really young. As soon as someone even steps on the plane with a baby you're like, ‘Ughhh! I feel bad for them!' And that's going to be us now."

But Luna may be the first of many.

"I think I'll probably be pregnant all through my 30s," Teigen told Self magazine. "I've always pictured everyone around the table for the holidays and together once a week. It'll be heartbreaking if it doesn't end up happening, but hopefully it will. We've got some embryos on hold."

Shortly before Luna's birth, Teigen and Legend celebrated their baby with two baby showers -- one in Los Angeles and one in New York.

Many celebrities sent well wishes to Teigen and Legend on Twitter:

Steve Thayer, 34, and Matthew Thayer, 31, introduced newborn cousins Cassidy Thayer and Benjamin Thayer shortly after they were born at different hospitals on March 20 at 6:53 p.m.

"We thought we'd have them really close together, but we never thought the same day, let alone the same time," Matt told People Magazine.

Matthew and his wife, Brooke, welcomed baby Cassidy at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, North Carolina while Steve's wife, Fawn, was delivering baby Benjamin 80 miles away at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina.

"It was a shock. I was absolutely amazed," Brooke said. "We were thinking they'd be born a couple days apart, and we had joked about them being born on the same day, but we never imagined this happening."

Brooke had planned to be induced on March 20, and Fawn's original due date was March 23. But during a family outing on March 20, Fawn unexpectedly began having strong contractions.

"I was having contractions for a couple days, but they started getting closer together, so I thought maybe this was it," Fawn said. "I went to the hospital and found out I was already five centimeters."

Steve texted his parents, who were at the hospital with Matthew and Brooke, and the brothers continued to update each other via texts to their father until both babies were born that evening.

"My father-in-law asked the nurse what time our baby was born and she said 6:53, and then he texted Steve to ask for his baby's details -- height, weight, length and time of birth -- and when he texted back 6:53, he said, 'You will never guess what time their baby was born,'" Brooke said.

Steve and Matthew have a close relationship and hope that their children will have a close relationship as well.

"We were joking that it was a brotherly competition and it ended in a tie,'' Matthew said. "It really is special."

"We think they're going to grow up being really close," Steve said.

Bridgette Crews, 39, was 34 weeks pregnant in 2010 when her unborn daughter, Molly, died.

She knew something was wrong when her daughter hadn't kicked in her stomach in a few hours.

"I pushed on my belly and felt absolutely nothing and started to cry," Crews told People.

When Crews and her husband, Chris, went to the hospital, they received bad news.

"The doctor came in and said 'There's no heartbeat,'" Crews said. "My husband screamed and cried and he never cries. It was horrendous."

The couple's daughter had died after a knot formed in the umbilical cord and also wrapped around her neck. Crews was induced and delivered her dead child that night. Molly weighed 4 pounds, 9 ounces.

Soon after, a devastated Bridgette went to a local Build-A-Bear Workshop, where she bought a bear that she later stuffed with rice she bought at a grocery store. She stuffed the bear until it weighed exactly 4 pounds, 9 ounces.

"Having her on my chest was the first time I could sleep through the night in weeks" she said. "Her weight did it. I slept with her and slept with her."

Crews told her support group about her creation and offered to make similar bears for the other grieving mothers. Lots of women were interested, so Crews decided to start Molly Bears, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating personalized teddy bears for families who have lost a baby or child in pregnancy or infancy. Each bear weighs what the child did.

Now, about 20 volunteer bear makers live across the U.S. Most of them are women who have had a child die prematurely.

To date, the team has made more than 10,000 bears, which have been shipped to families internationally.

"I know we are giving them a real tangible way to show the world their baby," Crews told People. "It's a Band-Aid on our hearts."

People can sign up for a bear, each of which can come with personalized details, on the last day of each month.

Stacey Skrysak, lost two of her three premature triplets.

"They are giving us something tangible to hold onto, which is a godsend when us angel parents are having those difficult moments," she says. "These volunteers are heroes to all of us who have lost a child."

"It's nice to be able to give people that peace and comfort, to reassure people that their babies matter no matter what anybody tells you," said volunteer bear maker Sabrina Kleymann, who's made at least 500 bears over the last four years. "For me, getting the bear was recognition I was allowed to love (my deceased children). It was something for me to hold and remind me it's okay to love them and miss them."
